We begin by discussing your goals for the pool, spa, tanning ledge, water features, decking and overall backyard use. The property is reviewed for available space, access, existing conditions and the general layout needed to move the project into design.
The pool shape, spa configuration, elevations and major features are developed around the property and your priorities. Finish selections, coping, tile, decking, equipment and optional water features are coordinated into a clear project scope and proposal.
Once the project is ready for construction, the pool is laid out in the yard and excavation begins. The pool area is shaped according to the approved design, preparing the site for the structural steel and underground plumbing phases.
Reinforcing steel is installed to form the structural framework of the pool. Pool circulation, returns, drains, skimmers, spa plumbing and planned water-feature lines are installed and coordinated before the concrete shell is placed.
Gunite is applied over the reinforced structure to create the permanent pool and spa shell. After placement, the shell enters the required curing period while the project advances toward coping, tile, equipment and surrounding finish work.
Selected waterline tile and pool coping are installed, followed by the planned pool-deck surface. These materials define the finished perimeter of the pool and help connect the pool design with the surrounding outdoor space.
The filtration and circulation equipment is installed and connected according to the project scope. Depending on the design, this may include pumps, filtration, sanitation, heating, automation and controls for the pool, spa and water features.
The selected interior pool finish is installed as the project approaches completion. The pool is then filled and the circulation system is started so the new surface and equipment can begin the startup process.
At completion, Nova Pools & Spas reviews the finished project and the operation of the major pool systems with the homeowner, including normal equipment operation, automation and the basic care considerations for the new pool finish.
Start with how you want to use the pool and the space around it. Discuss the pool shape, spa, tanning ledge and room for seating or entertaining, then identify which features are priorities. If an outdoor kitchen is part of your plans, include its location and relationship to the pool and patio in the early layout discussion.
Share what you know about the property's available space, existing surfaces and access to the proposed pool area. Discuss how the construction area relates to features you intend to keep and the parts of the yard you need to use. Clarify any site-preparation work in the proposal rather than assuming it is included.
Consider the pool interior and surrounding surfaces together. Explore pool deck options alongside coping and waterline tile, and discuss colors, textures, elevations and transitions. Confirm the selected finishes in the project scope so the pool edge and backyard materials are planned as a whole.
Discuss circulation, filtration, heating and the pool or spa functions you want to operate. Review pool automation with the proposed equipment and confirm the functions supported by that setup. Include selected water features during design so their plumbing and control needs can be coordinated with the construction scope.
